The proximal scroll inadvertently is dropped. One of the lateral scrolls is disengaged, and using Utrata Forceps, the proximal scroll is retrieved and placed above the iris. Next, the remaining scrolls are placed with the Utrata forceps.

@Robert Y. - This was a resident case, and the surgeon is still gaining experience. One cannot fault him for the initial struggle to rescue the dropped scroll. Rotating the ring with the scrolls engaged may induce some iris trauma. Advantages of is this technique is that it is a simple maneuver, no additional paracenteses needed to be made, and an instrument already on the field could be used. We wanted to share this because novice surgeons may encounter this situation and struggle for a solution. We hope that after viewing and remembering this maneuver, "useless poking around" can be avoided. Thank you for your comment.

Ok, reasonable technique, despite useless poking around. You could have simply disengaged the medial and inferior or superior scroll and simply rotated the ring onto the Iris, then reposition.
